Cypress, TX lawn care & landscaping

Cypress is growing fast — Bridgeland, Towne Lake, and the master-planned communities along 290 add new streets every year. Most of those homes come with the same thing: a builder-grade yard with thin sod, a strip of shrubs, and beds that were never really designed.

That's where we do some of our favorite work. We take new-construction yards from bare minimum to genuinely finished — real flower beds, healthy turf, and a front yard that keeps up with HOA standards without you touching a shovel.

Cypress lawn & landscape questions

Why did my new Cypress lawn start dying after two years?
Usually compacted subsoil. Builders scrape the topsoil and lay sod over compacted clay, so roots stay shallow and the lawn fails in its first hard summer once establishment watering stops. Core aeration and a corrected feeding schedule is the fix.
Is it worth redoing the landscaping on a new build?
For most Cypress homes, yes. Builder beds are narrow, unamended, and generic. Widening the bed line, amending the soil, and replanting is a modest project that changes the whole front elevation.
My builder-planted tree looks unhealthy. Can it be saved?
Sometimes. Trees planted too deep can occasionally be corrected by exposing the root flare. If the canopy is thinning from the top down and there is no visible flare after several years, replacement is usually the better investment.
